September 2017 Michindoh Rally

The Michindoh Rally was held at Hillsdale, MI with approximately 60 in attendance.  There were several guest speakers including a judge and an author, auction, prayer sessions and great times of fellowship.  Wayne and Gail were in charge of the games AGAIN! We had several ice-breaker games before the sessions and of course, there was the golf cart timed race again. Here are some of the fun times we had late September.

September 2017 - Timberwolf Young Life

Young Life Timberwolf Lake Camp for the month of September located in Lake City, MI.  Our first for volunteering in this beautiful state of Michigan.  We set off from NC to Cincinnati, OH overnight then off to the great state of Michigan.  Timberwolf is a Young Life Camp located in upstate Michigan. It can host large crowds of up to close to 500.  Young Life has ministry in high schools and colleges internationally and their philosophy is "earn the right to be heard".  They work hard at making you a close friend to extend the gift of salvation thru Jesus Christ.  Their camps are pristine and they treat you like kings and queens when you stay at their camps or conference centers. Since Wayne and I had never visited the state of Michigan, every weekend we tried to see a new area to include most of the noted locations on the coasts of the Great Lakes. There is so much to see, we felt it was impossible to see it all.

made us before we started
this SOWER journey.

This little guy is a stuffed animal of
Lilly's.  She left him in our RV when we
took her home before we left.  Instead
of going back to the RV to retrieve
"Spike" we convinced Lilly that he
needed to go to Michigan with us for
the Fall journey.  He will return home
late October!

It was recommended that
we stay overnight in Frankenmuth, MI
since we could not make it to
Lake City in one day from Cincinnati.
A quaint German town with a super
campground to boot.

Uh Oh Spike, the temps are dropping!
Sure feels good compared to the hot
summer. The leaves will be changing
fast.  Where are the apples?

Here we are at Timberwolf.
A gorgeous camp in Lake City, MI.
Gorgeous parking sites with
a RV Volunteer Lounge at our
disposal where we had pot luck
dinners, devotions and lots
of fellowship.

We figured we had cleaned 562 windows
in the end!

Cathy Richmond cleaning windows.

Wayne replacing lights with LED, great savings
to the camp in the long run.
Wayne sanding down the drawers that go in the lodges so that they operate more easily.
