November 2017 - CIT Again!

Going back to CIT is always a great Fall-back project!  Here we are again in our own back door serving with Allen & Judy Bucklin.  Funny story, they usually avoid being GL & LGL but this time it bit back!  They signed up thinking that there was already 2 other couples but did not look at the year, so they ended up being GL & LGL and did a fantastic job!

As usual Wayne was assigned
to repair furniture so the
ladies could chalk paint.

Judy Bucklin chalk painting
a set of twin metal beds maroon,
turned out so pretty, better than rust!
Our fun day out was a trip to Lake Lure for a 3 hr. pontoon boat tour!!!

Fall colors were spectacular.

Back to work!  The guys worked
on the renovations in the Philip House.
Mostly plumbing.

And the girls were
chalk painting many sets
of furniture.  This time we
tried some 2 tone pieces that
turned out fantastic, like dark brown
cabinet with light brown drawers.
Stunning!

And then we tackled those seats
on Art's golf cart.  Carolina blue?
Definitely an improvement over the
tan with holes!

A fun night at a Mexican Restaurant
with our friend, Mike Austin who was
also volunteering at CIT and of course, Art
who knows this restaurant all too well!

One of our 2 tone pieces, now
my favorite!

Tried our technique on this table
and chair set.  Left formica alone on
the top as the finish was good but light
gray on table frame and legs with black
chairs, beautiful compliment in this
small kitchen.
An of course, our group pic!  Allen & Judy Bucklin on left, and us on the right.
We love what CIT does for missionaries going abroad.  They feel confident when they
leave on their assignment and we have made eternal friends.  We WILL be back!
